This is awesome and shows the reasons why I'm so intrigued by the comic story you're presenting: the delicate linework, off-kilter image composition, the effective and yet not overpowering background, and the enigmatic expression that offers suggestions but not answers. Throwing the previously gag-based Mary into this new environment where the rules have been changed and yet haven't fully been defined is great stuff, and this particular rendering method is my favorite of the styles you've been employing. Very, very cool!
